Service Description

Sedation can help you deal with dental phobias, and alleviate the discomfort and fear that are often barriers to receiving care. We offer two forms of sedation dentistry, oral conscious sedation and IV sedation, so you can feel calm and relaxed in the dental chair while we work on giving you a healthy smile. Talk to us about your concerns... IV Sedation Oral conscious sedation Oral conscious sedation? This is a process whereby a prescribed sedative drug is taken orally, to produce a relaxed and sleep-like state. Once the medication wears off, most patients feel no discomfort or residual effects from the dental visit. The effect of the drug lasts for several hours, therefore it is imperative that someone takes you home and stays with you, until you have completely recovered. What is IV sedation? IV sedation works much like oral conscious sedation except that the drugs are administered intravenously (in your vein) by a qualified anaesthetist. With IV sedation, the effects are felt much quicker than with oral sedation and more control over the relaxed, sleep-like state.
